The README.BROCHURE also contains helpful descriptions of this and other software offered on the ftp server. _______________________________________________________________________________ NCSA COLLAGE V1.2 This is the final release of NCSA Collage version 1.2. This program provides data analysis and data visualization capabilities. Additionally, it has ability to perform the functions collaboratively, that is several scientists can share the same data space and exchange ideas and information. There are several files in this distribution. Collage1.1B4.sit.hqx contains the binhexed and stuffed application compiled for use with a machine containing a math co-processor. A version for machines without math coprocessors is now available from our anonymous FTP server and is found in the file Collage1.2NoFPU.sit.hqx. You can also obtain this version on floppy for a nominal fee. This is also the version that should be used with the Centris 610, and any other machine without an FPU. NEW FEATURES Multiple text editors for collaborative sessions are now supported. Line width is now variable for doodling. The xy plots and histograms now display numbers from the data set if the image was generated from a spreadsheet. This does not work on other collaborators machines however. Text in the doodle layer is now support. Things don't bind up when trying to send to the other collaborators during a session. Transmissions are handled in the background. The image menu now has some standard palettes in it, and the gray scale palette is not the default anymore. A slightly different protocol is now supported that enables us to associate palettes with raster images by a different name. Associations between raster images and spreadsheets can now be communicated over the network using the dtm protocol.
