You can obtain text files from the ftp sites via e-mail:

send e-mail to:

  archive-server@ncsa.uiuc.edu

The body of the message should be

index GlobalModels

It will list out what's in that directory.

For example if you want to know which papers have been
submitted, send

index GlobalModels/Papers

If you want a specific file, request it by:

send "file name"

for example:

send GlobalModels/Papers/WatershedSubdivision

you can also request help through the message:

help

It will send back a rather lengthy help file.

Note:You cannot request binary files that way, i.e. not the
files with an extension other than .txt
