This is mainly a place-holder file to help divide up the long list of whois-server site names.... The MIL domain mostly includes organizations based (ultimately) in the United States. RFC 1032 had this to say about these domain names: "MIL" was initiated to act as parent to subdomains that are developed by military organizations. The site names are organized alphabetically by the domain name of the whois-server machine, considering the labels (the individual components of the name, separated by dots) in reverse order. For example, FOO.AAAA.MIL, BAR.AAAB.MIL, BAZ.AAAB.MIL, etc. Notes: the DDN Network Information Center server, whois.nic.ddn.mil, is no longer the source for information about organizations on the network throughout the world. As of 1 April 1993, it has been authoritative only for DDN (the U.S. Defense Data Network). For other information, the whois.internic.net server at Network Solutions, Inc. should be used instead. See RFC 1400 for further details. .
