   to the massacre of innocents
     * The  planned  war will begin with an assault on Baghdad - codename
       Shock  and  Awe  -  involving  3000 missiles, including 800 cruise
       missiles,  in  two  days.  "There  will  not  be  a  safe place in
       Baghdad",  "...rather  like  the  nuclear  weapons at Hiroshima" -
       Harlan Ullman, originator of the plan.
     * A leaked internal UN document

       predicts  "as  many as 500,000 people could require treatment as a
       result  of  direct  and indirect injuries" resulting from just the
       early stages of an attack
     * Half the population of Iraq are children under 14 years of age.
     * The  Iraqi army is conscripted - line the line between soldier and
       civilian is a blurry one.
     * Years  of  sanctions  have left the Iraqi people hugely reliant on
       government infrastructure for survival. Few can afford to stock up
       on   food   or  medicines.  Bombing  is  likely  to  destroy  this
       infrastructure.
     * The  US  have refused to pledge not to use cluster bombs. Based on
       previous experience, they will. Between 7% and 11% of the bomblets
       fail to explode on impact, becoming Yanqui UXO fully as deadly and
       tenacious  as landmines. Each cluster munition contains around 200
       bomblets.
     * In  accordance  with  US  military policy, it can also be expected
       that radioactive Depleted Uranium ammo will be used. Since its use
       in  Southern  Iraq  in  the  last  Gulf  War,  a  66%  increase in
       leukaemias and cancers has been observed.
