We learned about the work of other agencies and opportunities for possible collaboration. We made great progress in relationships with the schools and how to work with them. We continues to learn the Community Systems Change process and how it is being used in other venues. Our committee membership is appropriate for accomplishing our committee aim. Our committee membership has remained committed to our aims and consistent in their participation in committee work. Committee Recommendations to the Council: We request that the Council discuss at the September MCCH meeting the implications of committee requests to community; for instance, requests to the schools. It seems that there is a possibility of alienating community partners with too many requests coming from too many directions. We recommend that the school be asked to participate in only one survey and that should be the statewide Youth Risk & Resiliency Survey. The committee feels that this instrument if valuable in its comprehensiveness and consistency, thereby allowing for the tracking of results and change over time. We recommend that the Council consider making a request of state funders that they not require or request other surveys in light of our other recommendations.
