Report on Share Fair Presented the Booklet we put out. Review of Activities in last half of 2003 o Beth Leopold came down and did the 2 day training. o Educated a number of citizens on Law enforcement JPPO system. o formed two more committee that feed of our experience. dommestic violence is doing well address concerns. o educating public about MCCH Council. o Needle Exchange Program successes. o collaborations with other agencies. We are working together more. Decreased negativity and understanding what everyone does. A Fresh Look at the Systems Approach and Where We Want to Begin planning our next Push. Nathan: We are doing another Citizen Police Academy. Police are in the schools. They are gong to do alcohol classes. Do something similar to Grants. Gocarts and "fatal vision" goggles to help people see what alcohol does to people. How do we measure this? Phil: Pre/Post test on attitudes. Better to come back three months later and survey again. Everyone wants to know if the outcome measure moved. Everything must be evaluated. discussion of the need for evaluation. We can use the new district epidemiologist to set up the evaluation. There has already been work with Fatal Vision goggles, playing basketball with high school team. Gail: Get more Youth Groups involved, like Mr. Pacheco's group, so we see things from their viewpoint. Nathan has met a former user who has offered to contribute to our group. Dee reports that the City approved the resolution supporting the Needle Exchange Program. Still need to work with county on the needle drop box. Homework Phil will bring Sue Champagne (epidemiologist) to the Jan 28th meeting Alan can bring a few youth to the next meeting on 16th. Alida will check budget for stipends for youth attendance at meetings. Alida will share our Expo Booklet with the county commissioners at an upcoming meeting. Jay will check with Mr. Pacheco about coming and bringing some kids to help give us youth perspective.
