 Introduction

  Philomena introduces herself and her experience.

 Assignment of Timekeeper and Scribe

  Nathan is Timekeeper.  Jay is scribe.

 Revisit Aim and Outcome and First PDSA Cycle

  Aim is unchanged.

  Outcome Measure:  Number of referrals for illegal substance use among youths under 18 years old.

  First PDSA:  Survey and training with Citizen Police Academy.  Completed.  Bringing Philomena up to speed on this.  Time taken: 2 hours.  Results of post-test in last minutes.

  Second PDSA:  Radio presentation like the citizen Police Academy.  Completed.  Time taken: 1 hour.  Feedback from community was result.

 Present "the George and Nathan Show" draft  (PDSA Cycle 3)

  Gave out copies to attendees.  This is also on the website.  Thanks Jay!

 Report from Nathan/George on planned meetings with Superintendents

  Waiting for Jay.  Try to set up something for this Friday.  Philomena asks us to mention that Middle school is using PDSA Cycles for their Change efforts.

 School Policies research (PDSA Cycle 4)

  Phil has reported on the thickness "extensive detail" of Clovis Schools drug policy. Alida mentioned there is no random drug screening policy that we could see from Logan.  

 Discussion of what is a "GOOD" PDSA cycle

  Yes, we can do two PDSA cycles at once.  "More Bang for our Buck."  Nathan proposes bringing something to the newspaper.  Discussion on how to do that.  Also discussion on the color for our powerpoint:  Teal text on Aqua.

 Possible PDSA Cycle 5:  Bringing Law Enforcement strongly behind referrals

  Some discussion on making sure that law enforcement actually acts on the referrals that our work is going to generate.  Nathan and George will work on this and report back.

 Homework

  George and Nathan will meet with Superintendents on future school presentations.

  George and Nathan will invite someone from the newspaper to our next meeting (22 Oct)

  George and Nathan will present to other Law enforcement agencies the referral issue.

  Phil will finish review of Clovis Schools Drug Policies to report to us.

  Bring policies from county schools to discuss at next meeting.  (susan - tucumcari, Jay&pablo  - Logan, Mary Ann&Susan - San Jon, Noreen - House)  Alida will also bring her copies.
