 This is a timeline. I couldn't find anything before the CIVIL WAR, so I'm starting there. (I just though I should give you a little FYI, in case you were wanting info on the time before that. Thank you.)
So, let us begin!

 .1857 -- Opponents of slavery set up a Republican Party.

 .1860 -- Abraham Lincoln is elected president, much to the dissapointment of most of the southerners.

 .1860-61 -- Eleven states recede from the US, and under the leadership of Jefferson Davis, begin a Civil War.

 .1865 -- Abraham Lincoln is assasinated. 'Yankees' win.

 .1867 -- Souix (pronounced 'sue') Indians battle and defeat US troops.

 Now I need to fast forward a bit because I had to get a number of different information sources, so I'm trying to put this together with what little resource I have. So please bear with me.

 .1954 -- Segrigation is beginning to break up in schools.

 .1960 -- JFK elected president.

 .1936 -- JFK assasinated.
