"The glass-faced elevator whisks you 346 metres (1,136 feet) down the side of the chasm to the Observation Pod. You drop like a stone. The journey only takes 58 seconds. From here you behold a wondrous sight... In the circular chasm, which is 555 metres (1,822 feet) deep, and looks about a mile across, giant excavators, diggers and trucks with tyres the size of a three storey house are working feverishly. At the bottom of the pit, a giant vehicle with a screw shaped nose which looks like something out of Thunderbirds is lying. As you watch, the screw-nose of the huge, mole-like vehicle begins to spin, and it disappears horizontally in an easterly direction. I wonder where it's going?.... After watching for a while, you decide to return to the surface via the Express Lift, rather than climb the 1,760 steps set in the cliff face, as you are a bit out of condition. type w, west, u or up to return to the surface." .
