There seems to be some sporadic problem with the server that I am finding difficult to trace. If you experience such a problem, it would help me to cure it if you can mail me a bit of information: What gopher client, name and verison number and computer make on which it runs, were you using when you found the problem? Which item(s) in at this archive gave you problems? Were other items accessible to you at this time? What symptom or error message did you get? Were the problems repeatable or sporadic? Email your reports to Archive@bio.indiana.edu Thanks, Don Gilbert 14 April 94 ----------------------------------------------------- The gopher server here has been updated to a version of UMinnesota's gopherd 2.012 with various patches of mine. Let me know if you have any problems using this server. Hopefully I've cleared up some problems that have existed over the past several months. -- Don Gilbert 30 Mar 94 P.S., I recommend use of a Gopher+ client for interacting with this server. See Gopher+TEST/Gopher+software/ for some (possibly out of date) programs. For Macintoshes, TurboGopher 1.08, GopherApp++, and GopherPup are suggested clients. For MSWindows, HGopher or GopherPup are suggested clients. For Unix/VMS, the U.Minnesota curses(character) client version 2.012 is pretty good. GopherPup is also available for some Unix systems with XWindows. .
