The files in this directory consist of the BSIM simulation package along with documentation files and models. Except for very small files, all are in tar/compress form. To extract them, execute the commands (for example) uncompress bsim_src.tar.Z tar foxv bsim_src.tar BSIM files for microcomputers use popular archiving packages. The MS-DOS archives in the DOS subdirectory are either self-extracting archives (these are the *.exe files) or pkunzip archives (*.zip). The main files are as follows: form.ps Order form (in PostScript) form.asc Order form, straight ASCII text bsim_src.tar.Z Source code for the BSIM package bsim_mod.tar.Z Source code for demonstration models bsim_tex.tar.Z BSIM documentation in TeX format DOS Directory with BSIM code for MS-DOS DOS/bsim.zip BSIM source code for MS-DOS DOS/*.exe self-extracting MS-DOS archives VMS Directory with BSIM code for VAX-VMS Two obsolete documentation files are also present. These are in nroff format and one is formatted, but all current documentation is written in TeX and is in bsim_tex.tar.Z. If you do not have TeX but can print PostScript documentation, these documents can be provided in PostScript. Printed copies can of course be requested from BSIM-Central. The obsolete files are: bsim_doc.tar.Z BSIM documentation in nroff input form bsim_txt.tar.Z BSIM documentation, preformatted The VAX-VMS files are included in bsim_src.tar.Z, but they can also be ftp'd from the VMS subdirectory. If this directory is empty, send mail to bsim@biome.bio.dfo.ca and they can be installed at a moment's notice (there is not much demand for the VAX-VMS files, and they are often removed to save space). Additional files containing model code and information will be posted from time to time. Address all queries to bsim@biome.bio.ns.ca .
