This account is primarily for the exchange of scientific data and programs
with other marine scientists.  Among the programs developed here are the
BSIM simulation package in pub/bsim and the associated utilities in 
pub/fortran.  As a service to the community you will also find files for
the Control Systems Group in pub/csg, and the Uniforum Atlantic minutes
and related documents are in pub/uniforum.

These directories can be accessed both by anonymous ftp and by gopher.

The dfo directory is intended for internal distribution of programs within
BIO, and should not be used by the general public, since any files of
general interest are available from servers on healthier networks.

This is also true of the cdrom directory, which is used for making
available files distributed on CD-ROM.  This directory may be empty or
contain whatever CD-ROM is in use at the time.

Uploads can be accepted only in the subdirectory uploads.  They will
then be moved to the appropriate subdirectory by the system administrator.
Please either upload a short descriptive text file or send mail to
sysop@biome.bio.dfo.ca describing any uploads.

Postings to raise money via pyramid schemes will not be accepted, and will
be considered abuse of this system.

Our network is heavily loaded.  Please do not run more than one simultaneous
session on this system, and try to keep your usage down to a moderate level.

The directory pub/public can be used for uploading/downloading temporary files.
These will not be transferred to other subdirectories and are subject to
removal without notice.

Now using dl to list directories.  To get dates, use "ls -d".  You can also
get directory listings by downloading the files /ls-lR.Z or the files called
Index which are most main directories (e.g., pub/bsim/Index).
