This server contains the REBASE restriction enzyme database of Richard Roberts,
Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, version 9110 (25 Sep 1991).
The database can also be searched with the recognition sequence.
In the database, a `^' is used to indicate a restriction site.
I've indexed the database in such a way that when a sequence is used as a keyword
(for instance CCCGGG) it will find all the sequences regardless of where exactly
the enzyme cuts (So it will find CCC^GGG (SmaI) but also C^CCGGG (XmaI)).
Information about the database is available by using rebase as keyword.
The references are also part of this database.
They are indexed in such a way that the number of the reference
(as it appears in field <6>) PLUS a dot `.' must be used as a keyword,
in order to get the reference. (13. etc.)
