     Michael A. Britton, relator, is seeking a writ of mandamus to
compel respondent, Judge Peggy Foley Jones, to forward notice  of
his jail time credit to the "appropriate institution."  Respondent
filed a motion for summary judgment and attached a certified copy
of the journal entry signed by respondent and filed with the clerk
of court on April 22, 1997, granting relator fifty-seven days  of
jail time credit.   The journal entry indicates that copies  were
sent to both the sheriff and to the Lorain Correctional Institute.
This action is moot since the relief requested has been  performed.
State ex rel. Jerningham v. Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas
(1996), 74 Ohio St.3d 278, 658 N.E.2d 723.
     Accordingly, respondent's  motion  for summary  judgment  is
granted.  Costs to relator.
