     The respondent's motion to dismiss the relator's petition for
a writ of procedendo is granted.  The prosecutor, in the underlying
case of State v. Dudas, Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Case No. CR-
334734,  has filed  a  response  to the  relator's  petition  for
postconviction relief on May 16, 1997.  Any attempt to compel the
trial court  to a  disposition at this  time is  premature.   See
Blassengale v. State of  Ohio (Sep. 21, 1990), Cuyahoga App.  No.
60376, unreported.  Costs to relator.
     Writ dismissed.
