I have made up a number of these from 300 ohm ribbon cable and coax. When rolled up, they literally take up next to no room, and they are a reasonable performer - certainly far superior tot he dummy loads that come with HTs. When using mine portable, I will usually use a lump of blu-tack to hold it to the ceiling, or drape it off the curtains - worked well for me and the only setup for it is unrolling it, hanging it up and connecting it to the radio - pretty damn simple.
