WD Cavier suck very vary badly.. Must have been one of those bad batch ones... I've got a 40 gig WD Cavier that's pushing 5 years now without a hickup... I got a 80 gig Seagate that lasted a year... I got an old HD that is in a clients computer now that is at least 9 years old... its a WD Cavier 850 meg... Personally, I don't pay it much attention any more... If a drive goes, I don't attribute it to this thinking any more... I use to, but now after years of working with this stuff constantly, I see nothing that collaborates this theory.
