I've got a drawer full of dead drives... all makes and models. Of course... al the Seagate ones are over five years old... I'd probobly place Maxtor near the top of the middle of the pack... except the bought Quantum which towards the end was stunning crap (Probobly the ONLY brand I ever replaced the same drive four times in three years) Maxtor is a bit of a pain for warranty exchanges (but, I don't live in the US). IBM is quite good (bottom of the top of the pack) with the exception of some early deathstars. Fujitsu was a nice company... the only one I've got a "Please send back your crap HD to us... we'll give you the retail price back no questions asked" from, but their drives were mediocre. --- þ Synchronet þ My Brand-New BBS (All the cool SysOps run STOCK!) .
