In the ep Shore leave we see the recreated but synthetic image of Kirk's
old flame Ruth. Laura tried to (to promote the idea of Kirk being gay)
make Ruth possibly out to be a man in drag. This is almost impossible.
The
 actress playing Ruth was all woman. It was just reaching by Laura to try
to make this old flame of Kirk's out to maybe be a man.
