That's what I was thinking. Here's this giant squid, the better 
part of a mile under the ocean surface, and it encounters 
something it's never encountered before it its life, some kind of 
metal squid lure baited with fish. No wonder it has trouble 
handling it. It was like those poor sharks that bash their mouths 
into the steel bars of shark cages. I bet the squid finally had to 
cut off its own arm to get free.
