If I > had one of those super-deluxe cars I would be afraid to even take it out > of the garage, lest it get dented, hit, breathed on or looked at wrong. > until you've actually driven one you just wont understand, it shares a status with series 3 & 5 BMW's, e-type jag's & 50's bentlies (and i beleive cadillac, but i cant speak from personal experience for cadillac). the car is so brilliantly designed, the suspension so perfectly balanced, the interior so lovingly constructed, and the drivers comfort so comprehensively considered that they are a genuine pleasure to drive (and not necessarily at high speed, although with the ferrari the car doesnt really come into its own at under 80mph) the difference between these and your average gm or ford is like the difference between a 5 star hotel and an 'about to be condemed' trailer park. Porsche on the other hand are extremely over-rated (mind you only outside of germany, the germans are often amused by the rest of the worlds obsession with this car for which they themselves have no romantic illusions), the motor is very good, but the rest of the car is crap, the suspension is almost non-existant, this car is actually hard work to drive even at moderate speeds, the interior while far from tacky, hasnt got the touch of class of the above mentioned cars, and frankly little thought is given to the drivers *needs* let alone comfort. all that said though, i do understand, and largely agree with your point. cheers fozzi .
