In movie making directors have much more input than in just hour long 
television. The script for First Contact was excellent and had standout 
performances from the likes of James Cromwell to bolster it.

There were other factors too such as Patrick Stewart having creative 
input. Nemesis was more of an example of the kind of disaster Beavis and 
Butthead could preside over. The book reads extremely well, the movie 
sucked like a two bit whore.
