  I need a new football team to root for.  The home town team hereabouts are
the Buffalo Bills, and they just SUCK year after year with the same tired old
excuses trotted out to account for the same annual failures; "we just have to
fine-tune the offense a bit", "[insert quarterback's name here] just needs to
find his groove as the leader of the team", "we fired [blah-blah] coach last
year and replaced him with [whoever] and he just needs to get his feet wet",
etc etc etc.

  The truth is, they make too many snap-judgement changes prioritized on the
wrong things.  Losman may be a great quarterback.  Someday.  When he learns how
to play football.  'Til then, he's a menace to any offensive drive he's in, and
you can SEE Eric Moulds thinking exactly that in post-game interviews where
he's trying not to say Losman couldn't spot an open receiver if he and that
receiver were the only players on the field.

  We FINALLY got rid of Henry (Captain Fumble), and McGahee's doing great, but
the play-calling tends to send him over and over again into brick walls without
seeming to notice what they're doing just ISN'T WORKING.  If the guy was less
of an excellent athlete than he is, this would be a terrible year for him
career-wise.  But he's good enough to be looking halfway decent despite
everything.

  *shakes head*  These guys haven't scored a 2nd half touchdown yet and only
won the single game they DID win because of field goals, and they're still
trying to pass themselves off as a playoff-calibre team.

  Maybe I'm jaded because I've been a fan since long before the superbowl years
and still carry a torch for the team that used to be, but I really think an
objective judgement of them is that they're a joke so long as the punchline is
they're insistance that they're so great.

  Always been fond of Jacksonville, frankly, since their first season (which
was damned impressive for ANY team, especially an expansion team fresh on the
fields).  Maybe they'll be my team of choice after this season.
