I think not.  it was created in the first place so as to shift the 
religious discussion (which can get heated) out of GENERAL and other subs, 
to a place where those who find it offensive can turn it off.

I don't mind them saying what they believe, but if they make a definiative 
statement then they had better be ready to support it.

Funny, but IIRC Christians come from a long line of people who tortured 
and killed people by the tens of thousands *for*their*own*good*.  With the 
possible exception of the jews during the holocaust, I don't think anyone 
has been responsible for as much spiritually justified death and suffering 
as Christians.  And it is an arguable point that the holocaust was a 
Christian action too.

I can assure you that the only reason Christians today aren't torturing 
and burning people is because their particular brand of bullshit is too 
well recognised for what it is, and they wouldn't get away with it.  But 
make no mistake: they would LOVE to be burning and pressing and torturing 
this very day.  They WOULD be if they could get away with it.  They used 
to in the past, and should the contemporary social climate ever change in 
that direction, you can be damned sure they will LEAP at the chance to 
start again!

I think that organized, 'big-business' religion is one of the greatest 
threats to personal freedom that exist in the world today, and those 
people and organizations who are a part of the hierarchy should be stamped 
out like the vermin that they are.

Believe what you will, but when you start with the self-important fear- 
mongering and psychological manipulation, *especially* targetted at people 
caught in the midst of some emotional low-point in their lives, you've 
painted a target on the back of your head.
