Subj : The Only One To : All From : Newborn Date : Tue Aug 30 2005 01:18:00 A teacher with many years of experience in high school and college classrooms observes many kinds of students. He said one in particular is what I call the "just ne and the teacher" kind. This pupil has a kind of one-on-one coversation going on with the teacher- almost as of no one else were in the class. The teacher's rhetorical questions, for instance, resulted in verbal answers fron this student-oblivious to anyone else's reaction. While the class was filled with other pupils, this one seemed to thinks it's "just me and the teacher." An observer watched one of these students recently and saw him command the teacher's attention. He thought "He's on to something. He has the focus we all need when we pray." The thought that millions of other Christians are talking to God as we pray should never cause us to feel that we are less important. No, as we talk to our everywhere-present, all-knowing, all-powerful God, we can be confident that He is giving us His full attention. God always directs single-minded attention toward our praise, our requests, and our concerns. In prayer, to Him you're the ONLY one. Newborn Christianity is a personal relationship, not a religion. "Though millions are bending God's ear in prayer, He listens to each individually." --- þ Synchronet þ Origin: The Hard Drive Cafe - Montgomery Al USA - www.hdcbbs.net .
