"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved." Jesus had to come and die for our sins in order for His resurrection to pay the penalty for our sins. Thru simple faith we enter into the new life offered thru Him. > N> But He did more then that, He rose from the dead so that He could place > N> US His robe of righteouness. Our own righteousness is as filty rags. Paul makes a distinction between 'professors' and 'possesers'. The one who is a 'professor' may not be a believer in Christ and is still in his sins. The 'posseser' HAS Christ and no matter how many times he falls can come to Christ for forgiveness and renewal. > He came to give us something new. He came to save us by faith > N> Him. It is not faith that saves but Jesus that saves. Faith is the means by which we come to Jesus for our Salvation. The book of James is for believers. It describes how a believer defines his faith thru his works. The unbeliever views the works of the Christian and it counted as 'proof' of our Faith. Works have NO in our Salvation but they do play a part in the rewards we will gain in Heaven for our service to Christ. We can NEVER lose our Salvation, but we CAN lose our rewards. > And how could you say Jesus brought something new when he himself vehemently > denied doing such? > From the beganing prophecy spoke of the Savior thus it was not something new that He should come. We should have recognized His first coming and now we look forward to His second coming.
