It would seem that people > Ne> should seriously re-think their position. > > Plus the fact that there isn't enough water to flood the world. (even once) > It had never rained before the Flood there was only mist on the earth (Gen 2:5-6) (i.e. a water canopy around the earth), yet it rained forty days and nights (40 is the number of judgement). Genesis 7:11 also says that the "fountains" of the deep were broken up". Apparently there were underground caverns of water that were released, as well as the tremendous rain when the mist, or cloud of vapor that surrounded the earth all cam down at one time. The earth's crust collapsed deep into the previous subterranean reservior chambers, forming the present ocean basins and causing extrusions of magman around their peripheries and through openings in their floors. The light sediments in the sea troughts were forced upward by isotatic readjustment to form mountain ranges and plateaus. Thus the waters originally stored in the vapor canopy and the subterranean chambers are now stored mainly in the present ocean basins (those waters would be sufficient to cover a "smoothed" earth (from the violent movement of the teutanic plates) to a depth of almost 2 miles after the vast topographic adustment that followed the flood.
