Subj : The Bible in a Nutshell To : All From : Newborn Date : Sat Oct 08 2005 00:18:00 The whole of God's Book can be reduced to the compass of a single sentence; it is John 3:16, the most widely known and the best beloved of all the passages in the Bible. It falls into two haves (God's half in the one side and Man's half on the other side) God loved and gave; and man believes and lives (as thus depicted) - GOD LOVED AND GAVE MAN BELIEVES AND LIVES (God's side) (Man's side) For God so loved the world, that He whosover believeth in Him gave His only begotten Son, that should not perish, but has everlasting life. (John 3:16) If you count the words you will find that there are just twenty-five. This is true both in the English and the Greek. It will also be observed that in the exact center of this wonderful sentence is the word 'Son'; nor is this surprizing for is He not the CENTER around whom revolves all the purposes of God in Creation and Redemption. This word (Son) is the 'hinge'. so to speak, upon which the two halves of the sentence turn. He came to bring God to men and to bring men to God. He is the meeting point between a Holy God and sinful men. But He is also a 'loving' God, whose nature is to love; and in the Son we see that love fully manifested, What responce is more fitting from a heart so loved then to accept the life He proffers?
