It is Catholic theology that makes works equal with Faith. The 'fruits' (works) of a believer do not save Him, it is the 'blood' of Jesus and His sacrifice on a Roman cross that pays for our Salvation. There is no distinction between the 'elect' and the 'choosen' in their Salvaation. Works are the 'fruit' of both the elect and choosen that earns him rewards in Heaven.
