It suggests that's the best we (conservatives) can do. And it's a helluva lot closer to a Republican Party dominated by a vocal minority that believes in the views of Pat Robertson, the lies of G. Gordon Liddy, the invective of the two-faced Rush and that breed of arch-conservative borderline Fascist (btw, search as I might...I can't find God as a registered voter:-) But pendulums always, eventually swing in the other direction. As it moves from this extreme toqard the other (as it certainly will) I'll become more comfortable for awhile before it's time to get off as it moves past center and continues its leftward trek. I am convinced of one thing though. Unless a traditinally moderate conservative (in the fabric of a Christine Todd-Whitman or someone similar) emerges to lead the GOP in '08, the nation will be so tired of the previous eight years that the pendulum-swing to the left will certainly accelerate and the Clintons very well MIGHT return to the White House. If so, you think Hillary will ask Bill to rebuild the nations healthcare system? :-) - gnb .
