The former is a reflection on loss and recovery (or some damned thing) and the latter is a dark comedy. The only connection is a brief 2 second appearance by Juliette Binoche in White. Supposedly, each movie takes the meaning of the corresponding color in the French flag (Blue = liberty, White = equality, Red = fraternity) as a theme but in a bizarre, and in the case of White fairly twisted, way. Looking forward to Red. -- Jim [1] Don't get me wrong. It's a good movie and Binoche does an outstanding job. It is, however, very moody[2] and borderline boring. Too much symbolism and overt Frenchiness. [2] The music for the unfinished concert that ties pieces of the movie together rocks. .
