I'm now most of the way through the Phoenix one. A couple of random thoughts:

1. The books are nicely engaging, but Harry Potter is becoming increasingly 
annoying as the story progresses. Yes, I know this goes with the territory 
when the main character is a 15 or 16 year old boy. However, the various and 
sundry Weasleys and Hermione have managed to endear themselves to me, so 
what's his problem. On the plus side, I was rather heartened to learn that 
Potter Sr. was an outright asshole at that age, so annoying is something of a 
step up.

2. It's interesting that the magical folks' view of muggles throughout the 
books ranges from backwards children on the high end to house pets on the low 
end. Clueless, pointy-hatted bastards...on the other hand, I've always wanted 
to be a housecat, so I am torn.
