There were 1400 cops on the NOPD before the catastrophe, so this is a bunch more. Still, is looting really a priority at a time like this? What are the looters going to do with hot TVs in a place that won't have electric for months? Lots of the looters are just after water and sandwiches anyway. Now there was a story my lab partner just told me about a Red Cross truck being robbed at gunpoint. Those robbers probably need the goods as much as anybody, but I never imagined bread trucks would need armed guards in America. .
