I was thinking about that movie this afternoon.  As film noir, it is only 
passable, and the part that gives it that level of non-suckitude is the 
sequence with Bruce Willis.  He has charisma and can play the Film Noir 
anti-hero with ease.  Take "Last Man Standing" for example.  While not yer 
traditional FN story line (more of a hybrid western) it had the grit and 
nihilism (and the molls) of FN.  And the monochromaticness.
