Your ire seems rooted in something more than just fact.

I agree that fan-run cons are much more fun, however since to my knowledge
no decent fan-run FS cons currently exist, that leaves the annual Creation
con.

As I said, I know a *lot* of Scapers who attend this con year in and out, so
it cannot be quite the Ninth Circle of Hell you describe.
