As you can see, John's contact with reality is as thin as ever. Well, I suppose technically you are a civilian if you refuse to report for duty. Bush Sr probably had the best military record in the last 40 years. From the Encyclopedia Americana: "World War II interrupted Bush's education. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 18, was commissioned an ensign, and for a time was the navy's youngest pilot. Serving in the Pacific theater, he flew 58 combat missions. He was once shot down and rescued by a submarine." .
