While politically embarassing, he was involved at a very high level, and 
its probably worthwhile for the people investigating to have access to 
him.

We just had a new contractor take over some important functions a few 
months ago, and though both teams were maintained in parallel for a few 
weeks for a handover period, there was a lot of little stuff we had to 
keep calling them about for the first month after they left.


If he is supposed to be part of the investigating team as the article 
seems to imply, Brown has zero independence and it would/could/should be 
seen as a conflict of interest.
