He makes it pretty clear that he didn't fire her for her offensive comments. I think the fact that the people she interviewed felt lied to and betrayed holds some weight in this case. She clearly wasn't acting as an investigative reporter (investigative reporters are trying to nab someone and of course leave some interviewees feeling betrayed). Given the fact that she wasn't investigating the interviewees or using them to nab someone else, they shouldn't have been shocked by her use of their quotes unless she seriously misled them. And why would she bother to mislead 3 people, unless she knew that a straightforward discussion of racial profiling would've brought up caveats that might have hurt the simplicity of her argument. The column alone () wouldn't immediately make me think she should be fired. The key is that 3 interviewees felt used and deceived. Sad that someone just starting out in her career has chosen to emulate Coulter in more than just humor and conservative bent. Coulter abuses footnotes, which when checked out, often do not support the claims they're meant to verify. And certainly there are people on the left who do the same. - TNW [To e-mail me, remove 12345 from my address.] .
