No way, man. I concur. I've seen all three of the new sci-fi pilots and they
are alarmingly similar in various ways.

Hated what I saw of "Threshold". Turned it off about 15 minutes in. The fact
that Braga (or whoever) had to toss a "Trek" in-joke 10 minutes in was about
the time my blood started to boil. That and a horny lothario dwarf? Gimme a
break..

"Surface", despite the overwhelmingly negative press, I liked quite a bit.
It's got potential to go cool places. Most of all though I totally dug on
the underwater photography.

"Invasion" is probably the best of the lot, despite having a seemingly weak
"Body Snatcheresque" premise. It's got a great cast and well-written
characters which is probably it's saving grace.

But the real truth is that it's highly unlikely that any of these shows will
be appointment TV for me. None of them blew me away and made me ache for the
next installment.

"Nip/Tuck" S3 starts on Tuesday. There is no better TV currently available
than N/T. *That's* appt. TV.
