I think the problem (which has gotten progressively worse the last few
yrs. and has hit a new low this yr.) is the horrible, uninspired
writing. There's no character growth. No interesting sci fi.  They rely
on a mind boggling amount of exposition to tell their stories. It's
boring and impossible to process.  And it's always lapsing into painful
"hit you over the head with the message" dialogue.
 
The writers are burnt and the actors know it. I feel bad for Browder.
For all of them actually.
