I bought an older unit from a guy who had the hard drive die out of warranty, if he had lifetime on it and paid for the drive to be replaced he'd still be watching it today. If TiVo had somehow come out with the same tech years ago (before there were five hundred cable channels, a free versatile operating system, and cheap hard drives) many people would be dealing with older dying TiVos, but right now people are waiting on the HD TiVos, newer units with Cablecard, competition from knockoff products, direct competiton from cable sattelite companies, and other things that are churning them faster than they die. -- "Do not seek to follow in the footsteps of the wise.
