TiVo costs $12.95 a month for the service, you can get a 40 hour unit right now for $49 with a one year agreement. Its $199 with a $150 mainl in rebate. My second TiVo only costs $6.95 a month for the service, and any more TiVos after that would be the same. Now for the exciting parts, you program a VCR for one show or recurring timeslot you get one show or whatever is in that timeslot for as long as the schedule is for. TiVo will get me only the new episodes(or repeats if I want) of a show I want to see, even if the schedule gets bumped by a few minutes. The TV Guide info for the next two weeks is searchable via keywords, actors, or titles. This allows me to look for shows by subject such as shows about the ISS, Space Shuttle, NASA or whatever. You could also use the Comedy/Romantic Comedy wishlist like my wife has, this will pull goofy love stories. When the new shows come back like they are doing right now TiVo has some previews you can look at to see the ABC, CBS, and NBC new fall shows, last week the previews were for the new WB and FX shows. If you like one of the previews, you hit one button and it will setup a recording schedule for the show. My wife roots for the Dallas Cowboys, we live in DC, Cowboys games if they are on at all are on various different stations from week to week, but TiVo finds them every week (if available) in our Dallas Cowboys wishlist. -- "Do not seek to follow in the footsteps of the wise.
