Check out the "Ladykillers" and "The man in the white suit" very very English and made in that strange post-war period when all of Britain was going through incredible social upheval."Kind hearts and coronets" has an incredible performance by Alec Guinesses as a social climber killing his way through members of his own family to become the Duke of Chalfont. Guiness plays something like 10 roles as various members of the family. For a lighter touch try Whiskey Galore,(based on a real story) or the Titfield thunderbolt.
