Somebody at Edgbaston,(the Warwickshire county ground in Birmingham,) ordered a load of mugs with his picture on and the legend "the king of spin." When they arrived the printer had made the error which made Giles "the king of spain." It appealed to the Bears fans sense of humour and sort of stuck. My dad however is old enough to have seen a member of a royal family play cricket at both county and international level. The Nawab of Pataudi played for Sussex and India, captaining India when he was only 21. Interesting fellow he only has one eye, he had a car accident just before he became captain of India. His father was the only player to have played at test level for both England and India. Ted -- Stare too long into the abyss and the abyss looks like a nifty place to hide the bodies .
