Sorry, the exact organization was the British Peace Council, setup by the 
British Communist Party where he organized pro-communist anti-war rallies 
so he wasn't a member of the communist party he was a member of a group 
started by the BCP, funded by the WCP, which in turn was funded by the 
KGB. He wittingly or unwittingly supported their agenda, sounds like 
splitting hairs to me.
