We used to teach a lovely lock, where you use push the fingers back using the dislocated joint to then control them into a throw. It was one of the less taught variations as people kept popping all the tendons in the palm. I studied a traditional style of ju jutsu, for a number of years. Wrist locks are nice and I have used them but it's a different matter in the real world. You are a large chap I should guess from the various decriptions do you really believe somebody without your body weight, limb length and muscle would be able to move a determined attackers wrist. This is one of my bugbears about womens self defence courses they are taught in an environment where people to resist the technique and you see people taking one or two lessons at the Y and thinking that is all they need. Ted -- Stare too long into the abyss and the abyss looks like a nifty place to hide the bodies .
