Either is possible but they will probably pump it mainly back into the 
Pontchartrain and the 17th street canal.  If it is Mississippi river water 
we're talking about then it is probably less polluted.  Lake Pontchartrain 
is really a mostly enclosed bay.  The water there is brackish.
