The poll may very well be accurate, but we won't know until there's a
second one that confirms its results.   

The poll was taken on the Friday night of a holiday weekend with only
500 participants.   To get a representative sample, usually the number
is double that, the poll is taken over several days, and it isn't done
on a weekend (let alone a holiday weekend) when so many people are out
(weekend/holiday polls skew the sample towards certain demographics -
e.g., those who stay home).

So it may be accurate, or we may find that subsequent polls contradict it.
