If I am not mistaken, it was at one point *the* most expensive-to-produce-per-episode television show, and I wouldn't be at all suprised if it still is. Once the show starts to cost more than the network can get in ad revenue, cancellation is a very real possibility, even with the 18-49 demographic. Losing Wyle's costly contract was a step in the right direction $$$, but if the ratings continue to hemmorage, look out. .
