First off, I can say now that the scene plays better with sound.

But to answer the question, no, Abby isn't the department slut. (That
slot hasn't been filled since Deb's departure.)I got the impression
that he asked her simply because he's always been interested in her,
and the fact that she asked about HIM gave him hope that maybe it was
mutual. (And presumably the slight oddness about his character makes it
hard for him to have a typical social/romantic life. )
